soulshine benefit concert to help aid wnc tip it forward
We are thrilled to announce that SOULSHINE, a benefit concert to aid relief and recovery efforts in Western North Carolina and Florida in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, has named WNC Tip It Forward as one of the donation recipients via the SOULSHINE Concert Fund.
This star-studded event will take place at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, November 24, and features Dave Matthews Band, Asheville’s own Warren Haynes Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, and Goose. The evening also includes special guests Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, Robert Randolph, Trombone Shorty, Joe Russo, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks.
As Warren Haynes told Billboard, “The object now is to try to raise as much money as possible. It was terrible to watch. I was on tour and was watching CNN and saw them panning the River Arts District, which is where my brother’s store is; they panned as far as the building next door to it, and it was underwater. I was like, ‘Sh-t my brother’s store is right there,’ but at that time I couldn’t reach anybody, and they couldn’t reach me. But I was lucky enough to be able to talk to them in the beginning, and he assured me that everybody was okay. After that it was just really frustrating not knowing and watching the news and hoping. Now I just want to do whatever I can to help everybody.”
This concert is currently sold out.
There will be a livestream of the concert starting at 7pm on YouTube Live. More information is here.
All net proceeds will benefit the SOULSHINE Concert Fund at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, which will support a variety of non-profits on the ground in North Carolina and Florida. Visit their website to learn more or make a donation.
